The company I purchased my Honda Goldwing motorcycle from in Wisconsin had selected HaulBikes transport to deliver my bike. On the delivery day , after it was taken off the truck I did check the bike for damage but did not notice anything . After the driver left I was looking at the bike and I noticed that the left rear back break light was cracked, it was very hard to see. I then checked the rest of the bike more closely and discovered the front left headlight was also cracked. I immediately (about 10 minutes after the driver had left) emailed HaulBikes and copied Road track and Trail the dealer from which I purchased the bike to let them know what I discovered . HaulBikes sent me forms to fill out with instructions to get 2 estimates . I went and received two independent estimates and sent them to HaulBikes . I was informed that it would take up to 30 days for them to complete and investigation. They wanted to talk to the driver etc.. I had to keep emailing them for a status. The bike was purchased on Oct 11 and delivered on November 14. The claim went in November 16(had to get two estimates). On December 17 I received and email stating the claim for damage was denied because the amount of damage was less then the deductible of $500 Dollars. I informed them that the first estimate was $479 for parts and the second $357 for parts but if they had looked at the estimates they would see that both had written labor hours on them and costs, one for $270 dollars and one for $565. I was then emailed with a vague reference to the had written labor hours on each estimate, as to indicate they may not be legitimate because they were hand written. . I emailed back that all they would have to do is call each dealer to verify this information. I asked to have the insurance company contact me but have only gotten response that the Manger of HaulBikes would be notified. I have asked to see any paper work on the "Investigation" but have not received a response that that would happen. It seems to me that no investigation has been done, that HaulBikes did not look at the estimates when they were originally sent in or give them to their insurance carrier, if they did they would have contacted each dealer. The claim that the damage is less then the deductible is false, they are just trying not to pay.
